TechDomain is pleased to announce that we now offer hosting! It has become increasingly difficult for us at Techdomain to find quality sponsored hosting for our site - because of the high bandwidth use that we have. As a result we are now offering hosting accounts to help support that cost. Our accounts start at $2 AUD - Why so "cheap"? Thats simple! We are not trying to get rich quick - or even make a profit from web hosting. Our only goal is to make enough to cover costs so that we can keep TD afloat, and on a superb hosting solution. Do we have a server? well no, we dont. We are offering resold accounts, that are sold alongside our TD account. Having said that, 90% of hosting "companies" are resellers - and most of the remainder simply have a dedicated server in a datacenter somewhere that they have never even seen! Does that mean that the quality of our services will be any less? NO! It just means that we are honest! our ultimate goal is to sell enough accounts in a "stepped" way to eventually have our own dedicated server. So how can we guarantee our hosting? Well - honestly, we cant. At least not any more then any of the other "hosts" out there. What we can tell you though is that as your account is hosted on the same server as our TD account that we will always look for the best solution possible to ensure reliability, and speed! Oversell? Some hosts offer massive amounts of bandwidth and disk space, knowing that most people will never use even a small fraction of it. If you do use it though, they kick you off the server using "fair play" terms to do so. Does that mean that you were in the wrong? of course not. It just means that because that host is after money, they can fit 100 accounts into the space that you used. The difference here is that we do NOT oversell. In other words, if you pay for 5000Mb bandwidth, you can use 5000Mb bandwidth! As a matter of fact, you can use even more if you need to - it will cost you just $3 AUD for up to 10Gb more! What we don't offer: We don't do domain name registrations, and we dont have 24hr "live" support. What we do offer though is help and guidance to get you set up with your own website - free of charge (even if you don't have an account with us!)
